Sandra Ren Shan Chen

Sandra is a second-year graduate student of the MArch I degree at UCLA AUD. Before starting her journey at AUD, she earned her bachelor's degree in horticulture and landscape architecture at National Taiwan University and worked in a landscape architecture firm in Taipei. She is interested in studying the human experience of the natural environment in an urban context. Sandra believes that if we see architecture as building individuals, landscape architecture could be seen as the medium among those individuals; and that constructing the world we live in, they should be considered as a whole in urban planning. She hopes to leverage these two expertises as the agents to make the city more physically and mentally healthy.
