Cate Carlson

2018-19 cityLAB Fellow

Cate Carlson is a graduate student in the concurrent master's degree program for architecture and urban planning and graduate of the Urban Humanities Initiative, pursuing a focus in affordable housing research and design.  As the current cityLAB Graduate Fellow, Cate is conducting research around affordable housing alternatives for the future of Los Angeles, as well as supporting the ongoing project of Urban Humanities at UCLA.  Cate holds a Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies from UC Berkeley, where she was first able to explore the productive space between architecture and urban planning - a space in which she feels the bounds of the two fields can be challenged.
